Jazz Comebacks In The Panhandle

The Utah Jazz have made history with three comebacks wins in a row but the comebacks that I thought were impressive were the back to back games against two power house east teams Miami Heat and Orlando Magic on the road. The Utah jazz are a force to be reckoned with after two big wins on the road.
With point guard Deron Williams and and so many weapons for the Utah Jazz Al Jefferson Paul Millsap Andrei Kirilenko C.J Miles Raja Bell. This Utah team has been quiet but now they are showing they are playoff contender.
The comeback in Miami was impressive down 22 points and win in overtime. You would think this Utah Jazz team will be tired and lose against Orlando Magic after a hard fought win in Miami. Jazz were down the whole game but they fought hard in second half especially fourth quarter.
I thought this was hilarious Orlando Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy said in the huddle he said to his team “alright were doing good but we started off the quarter like that team last night” he was talking about Miami Heat. Stan Van Gundy was pretty much telling his team they are not going to blow this game.
The Jazz thought otherwise and Deron Williams lead his team to victory once again. Not just coming back from 16 point deficit they also won by 10 points and just winning two big games on back to back nights. If Utah Jazz come in your city and your team is up don’t think your team has won the game you can ask Magic and Heat fans.

Jazz Put The Heat Out

The Miami Heat may go down again as NBA’s  most hyped team in history because they are not living up to it. Last night at home in Miami they were were 55 to 30 in 3rd quarter and people watching this game were thinking, “Oh another Miami Heat blowout win.”
Well the Utah Jazz thought otherwise.
The Heat, thinking they had this game put away, never saw it coming. The Jazz fought back. With Miami up by six points with 25 seconds left, everyone was thinking “game over, Heat win,” No, no,no.
Utah Jazz keep fighting to the last minute as Paul Millsap hit a three pointer to bring them within three points, Miami up 99  to 96. The Heat went to the free throw line with 19 seconds left and the score 101 to 96. The Jazz come back again with, guess who, Millsap who hit another three pointer and the Jazz are down 101 to 99. Millsap posted a career-high game with 46 and never let up.
Miami Heat hit two free throws with 10 seconds left in the game and the score 103 to 99. And guess who, yes you got it right, Millsap again hits a three pointer and the Jazz are down by one. The Heat came back to get fouled and go to the free throw line. Wade was at the line shooting two big free throws but missed one leaving the lead at two, 104 to 102.
The Jazz call a time out to advance the ball to half court, the ball is inbound and thrown to the corner to CJ Miles he shoots the three pointer and misses but there for the rebound is, again, Millsap. With 1.3 seconds left in the game he laid it in at the buzzer and the game goes into over time.
The Jazz make the first shot in overtime and score is 106 to 104 but the Heat come back with the ball looking to score. Wade scores and the game is tied. Miami scores at the free throw line and then scores again 109 to 106 and Utah makes one of one free throw score is 109 to 107 and Wade just scores again game is now 111 to 107.
The game looked like it had been put away and the Miami heat have won the game. Guess who yes again Paul Millsap hits to big free throws. The Jazz get the ball back and Andre Kirilenko hits a big three pointer to give the Jazz the lead 112 to 109. Andre Kirilenko hits big free throws to give Jazz 3 point lead 114 to 111. The game is on the line and Wade hits a three pointer from the corner to tie the game.
20 seconds left the Utah Jazz go to the free throw line as Francisco Elson gets fouled by Dwayne Wade the and go’s to the free throw line 0.4 seconds left and Jazz hit both free throws to win the game. I thought this game was game of the week great game very exciting and to some people an upset victory by the Jazz.

Spurs Are Back

Spurs win once again and do like the San Antonio Spurs do, winning with multiple players in double digit points. Last night the San Antonio Spurs took on the Charlotte Bobcats.
While the Spurs did great on offensive but on the defensive end they have to pick it up.
They had a comfortable lead most of the game but they almost blew it in the last seconds giving five points in one possession. But Spurs have veteran players who know how to win.
Ginobili put in a floater off the backboard to finish off the Bobcats and give Spurs a four point lead with seconds left in the game.
Veteran Ginobili topped the team with five from three point land for 26 points in the win. Tim Duncan had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Tony Parker had 12 points and eight assists and rookie Gary Neal had a big game with 15 points. Neal shot the lights out from the outside the three point line, making five for seven.
The Spurs are playing well and as long as they stay healthy they will be  a contender. They are third in the Western Conference behind hungry Hornets team and defending champion Lakers.
This Western Conference will only get more exciting and Spurs fans will get to cheer “drive for five” in the playoffs.

Thriller Game In D.C.: John Wall’s Home Debut

Last night in Washington D.C the top 2 players in the 2010 NBA Draft were on tap but the game was all about John Wall and Cartier Martin vs. Andre Iguodala  and Louis Williams.
Wall had one of the best rookie home openers in NBA history with 29 points, 13 assists and nine steals in a thriller-best game of the week.
The Washington Wizards and Philadelphia Seventy Sixers go at it back and forth these guys just put on a show.
The closing seconds of the game were great. Philadelphia was up by three and Washington’s Martin hits a last second 3 pointer to tie the game and send it into overtime.
The Wizards’ Wall was playing unselfishly. He was scoring, but he was passing often. In a play you’ll want to see, he gave a pass to a wide open shooter who mad the three pointer to give Washington a four point lead near the end of the game.
Philadelphia scored and scored quickly with one minute left in the game to gain a one point lead.
Wall and the Wizards came back the other way and Kirk Hinrich got fouled and hit two big free throws to give Washington one point lead. Philadelphia came back with seven seconds left and they give the ball to there clutch player Andre Iguodala. He shot a well contested fade away and missed, leaving the Wizards with the win.
It was a great game with so many highlights but Wall has shown he is a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. As we get to see he and Blake Griffin go at it for the rookie of the year award, it should be an exciting NBA season and it will only get more exciting as the year goes by.

Rajon Rondo’s Triple Double

Friday night the Boston Celtics took on the New York Knicks in Boston. This night was a great night for my favorite point guards Rajon Rondo he had one of his best games and another triple double to his career.
Rondo is one of the most unselfish players and is one of the top point guards in the NBA. He is one of the smartest and most creative players.
Rondos game, including his ball fakes and his passes, is something the league hasn’t really seen in a while. He doesn’t need to rack up 20 points a game like other point guards, he can get you a 10, 15, 5 in any given night. Rondo is underrated he should be all NBA first team.
In the game against the New York Knicks he proved that he is a All NBA first team when he had 24 assists, 10 points, 10 rebounds and 1 steal. Rondo starts the offense. He is the reason Celtics are even still in conversation as a “title contender.”
Rondo was named Eastern Conference player of the week and deservedly so.
He and his Celtics will take on the Detroit Pistons at Detroit, the game to watch if you want to see an exciting point guard.

Miami Dominates The Weekend

Miami Heat dominated this weekend as they beat Orlando Magic by 23 points and then beat the New Jersey Nets.
Lebron and Wade both had big games with 20 points, but the most impressive win was against power house Orlando as the Heat destroyed the Magic.
The Heat frustrated Dwight Howard who fouled out midway in the 4th quarter. They did what everyone had been waiting for to dominate in games as there first 2 games of the season were horrible games for the big 3 (Lebron,Wade, Bosh) as they combined 52 points 15 turnovers in first game.
The next three games were wins the first win wasn’t all that great but the last two games the Heat just played up to the hype. The Heat dominate as the big three all have double digits in the games. As the Heat “get to trick or treat” on Sunday.
The Heat will play against Timber Wolves tonight lets see how the Heat will play against what Michael Beasley said his team is the worst team in the NBA. So this should be practice for the Heat just get there players to play better together.

Miami Heat is Hot

The Miami Heat training camp starts today and this team is the most talked about team in the NBA right...
The Miami Heat training camp starts today and this team is the most talked about team in the NBA right now. They are getting a lot of hype because they have back to back MVP Lebron James and all-star Chris Bosh and nobody else could be happier then team leader Dwayne Wade.
Wade has been carrying this team since he won the title in 2006 and he has had to work 10 times harder and score 30 and 40 a night. That can take a toll on a player, especially doing that for 82 games. Then,on toip of that, losing in the playoffs in first round over and over again.
2010 was an historic summer as the Miami Heat signed Lebron James and Chris Bosh. Everybody was really waiting on Lebron James to decide where he is going on “The Decision” which gave ESPN Big Ratings for an one hour long televised event.
Lebron decided to go to Miami and join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, who signed few days befoearlier.
Lebron has been talked about everywhere and his new team Miami getting tons of hype “team to beat” and “Heat vs Lakers.”
He finally speaks out in media day before Miami Heat training camp starts, saying, ”championship or bust.”
He also responded to hearing a lot of stuff about him saying he is a sell out and he will never be like Michael Jordan and Kobe and other great players.
“I respect Jordan and Magic and Bird and all of the other great players to play this game, but I can’t live through these players, I have to live through me and my game.” Lebron showed class by speaking out on how he feels about all these comments.
As the season is getting closer and closer people and teams are waiting for this team to mess up and lose just to say this team is not living up to hype. Lebron and Wade are ready for it and ready to prove all of the world wrong. NBA 2010-2011 season will start the whole world is ready to see one of the most exciting teams ever.

No. 1 Goes Down

No. 1 Ohio State Loses

For two straight weeks a No. 1 ranked college football team has lost and moved out of the No. 1 spot.  Alabama lost to South Carolina and now Wisconsin took down Ohio State; a result everyone most likely knew could happen. Ohio State had good chance of losing because Terell Pryor has trouble against Wisconsin.
Other news with No. 1 ranked teams is the new No. 1 is Oklahoma. I, and others think otherwise and Oregon should be #1 because they are in one of the toughest conferences in college football. The Pac 10 has become the new SEC of this year.
There is some discussion that Boise State should be at the top, but that is not going to happen. Boise State may stay undefeated but their schedule is too weak. Boise could possibly make it into the Rose Bowl but not BCS.
College football is great to watch because anything can happen from week to week. Fans just have to wait and see how the season ends.

Kobe Answers the Billion Dollar Question

When Kobe Bryant and the Lakers were in London Kobe was asked who would win in a game 1 on 1 between him and Lebron James. Without hesitation, Kobe answered, “I would” as he shook his head and said, “Lebron is more like a Magic Johnson type player,” an all around team player.
In my opinion, Kobe is just saying Lebron is a team player and Kobe is a selfish player. Even thought Kobe right now is the best player in the world only because of titles –he has five. In my opinion, Lebron would win 1 on 1. Lebron is too big and these two players are in different categories and cannot be compared to each other.
As you can tell, I am a big Lebron fan. I’m not really a Kobe fan  but I will admit he is currently the best in the world.
These two are getting a lot of attention but quietly Kevin Durant is inching his way into the discussion. He is youngest scoring champion and MVP of FIBA Worlds.
Lebron will not win the MVP and neither will Kobe. Durant will win it. Lebron and the Heat are too concerned with winning an NBA title and the Lakers just want to defend it. That leaves Durant to come in and take MVP.

Spurs still contender?

2010-2011 season is going coming up and Spurs are not getting younger.
This is the question everybody will ask ,”Are they still contender for a championship?”
Other teams in the league are getting better especially with the historic 2010 free agency.
Teams had great additions were Miami, with Lebron and Bosh; Chicago, with Boozer, Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer and rumors say Carmelo might want to join Bulls.
Defending Champion Lakers added another great defender in Matt Barnes. Amare Stoudemire went to New York.
This means our San Antonio Spurs will have to make some great additions. Spurs got Tiago Splitter a draft pick Spurs from 2007. He will help San Antonio on rebounds and blocks and will give Tim Duncan resting time.
The already 34-year-old future fall of famer and the best power forward in the game, Duncan will try to stay healthy as the whole team should. A bad move to me was re-signing Jefferson. Spurs used a lot of money to get him and he did nothing to help the Spurs.
Spurs still have some young guns on the team George Hill at 24 years, Tiago Splitter at 25 years and DeJuan Blair at 21 years young. Good for the Spurs even though they are still one of the oldest teams in NBA.
Spurs still want to be a contender let these young guns get lots of playing time. George Hill, a terrific point guard and a great defender, should be a starter and Splitter should be helping Tim Duncan down low.
Spurs will need to stay healthy especially in a hard Western Conference with teams like Lakers, Thunder, Trailblazers, Mavericks, Suns, and Jazz. Last season Manu got injured twice and Parker got hurt for a good number of games.
Tim Duncan and his Spurs have been in this situation before so don’t count the Spurs out of being a contender. All they have to do is stay healthy and the Spurs can continue in the playoffs and maybe “Drive for 5″ in this upcoming exciting 2010-2011 NBA season.
